Q: Do the cameras with the Swann system broadcast in color or black and white
A: Hello, The cameras transmit in both. During the day the cameras record in color and during the night the cameras record in black and white.
Q: Do you have to run electricity to each camera or are they supplied through the cable?
A: you have to run 12 volts to each camera, the supplied cables already have the power cable together with the coax cable, they also supply the power adapter for the cameras in the box all you have to do is the installation, you don't have to buy any other equipment.
A: Cables are sixty (60) feet in length and in a siamese config with the 12 vdc power. The video cable size is similar to RG-174, very small. I don't like RG-174 type cable for those long runs and used RG6 dual shield on my system. I don't recommend to use provided cable in full sun exposure as is probably not UV protected, inside would be ok.
A: With the installed hdd, 12 cameras that came with the system and 3 regular dome cameras I had from another system, I was getting about 3 days of 1080 recording. I changed my recording nitrate fro the 4096 to 2048 on all my cameras and now I’m getting 7 days of recording.
Q: the image is only black and white? or it is colored?
A: Color. Black and white at night of course.
A: Our system picked me up at a good 90-100 feet away going ACROSS the field of view. We were impressed.
Q: Do these Cameras record audio
A: No, the cameras do not have microphone, so no audio.
