“If the cameras are set to record motion is there any lag time from the time the motion is made to the time it begins to record I have ARLO Pro cameras that are motion activated and they might record the back of someone leaving and sometime not even that.”

Yes. The lag was pretty bad 1-3 seconds. Someone had enough time to drive up, smash my car window, and grab a bag. Unfortunately I found a beta update that addressed most of the lag issues after my car was broken into. https://support.swann.com/2018-firmware-updates-Ska5PM0xm This seemed to have lessened the lag to about 1 second or less.
