“What does the term "add on" mean? Does this item operate independently or do I need to buy additional equipment to cause this item to function? Does this item have it's own internal storage "hard drive" or is the storage external. Thank you!”

Hello Bill, Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. This camera will require a hardwired connection to a compatible Swann NVR. This camera is not able to operate independently.
