What if the burglar steals the hard drive? null

You may have photos of the thief if you set up the e-mailing capability. You can also set it up so a PC records events as well as the DVR. Best bet, hide the DVR so it doesn't get stolen.

You are doom if they steal it but you have it hooked to the Internet it may safe on the cloud and you can put a password on the DVR

If your hard drive is taken you would be out of luck. I've hidden mine and I'm considering bolting it down with some metal straps. Make it hard to find and / or take.
