A:Answer Not an authoritative answer, just a DIY observation: There are two wires that run between the receiver and each camera; one carries the power to the camera and the other carries the data back. They aren't heavy gauge; it felt comparable to Monster (wrapped 24 gauge) speaker wire that I've pulled before. Maybe the gauge is listed in the specs? But the ends are not bare wire; they are similar to (but not the same as) RCA. As long as the gauge is sufficient, and you can splice the ends of the currently packaged wire, onto the ends of your already-pulled wire... I don't see why it wouldn't work. You'd know as soon as you cut into the video wire to see the type and number of wires in there (two?). I'd suggest looking for the answer on a vendor specific (Swann) website? Similar to "old construction" verses "new construction" with how other electrical wiring works.
