The motion sensor lets the DVR record only when movement is sensed, instead of recording 24/7. This saves space on the DVR, and makes it easier to pinpoint an event.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.500GB storage is not enough to capture 8 cameras continuous. The unit is set to default to motion detection to only record the cameras that are seeing motion. You can upgrade the HDD inside the unit but I have not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Motion is for recording, the camera DRV comes default to record motion, you can record 24/7 to not at all for each channel......
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can set to record motion only to save hard drive space. It will also send you an email with a picture when it detects motion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cameras can be set to record only when motion is detected. This limits how much memory is used. It also limits recorded footage of nothing happening. The risk would be the sensitivity of the motion sensor - does the camera actually activate when someone walks by 60 feet from the camera? I am not familiar with this brand/model so I cannot speak specifically about this one.
