Hi Ryan. An internet connection is required if you wish to view the system remotely on your phone, & for software updates. If you don't need to view it on your phone and are happy to view as a local system on a monitor instead, then you don't need any internet connection. The clips get recorded to the hard drive and you can play them back on a monitor connected to the NVR. - SD, Swann Team
