Hi Gprat. The PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor on this camera is designed to detect the infrared energy from warm moving objects at or around human body temperature. The objects that it normally triggers off are people, larger pets and vehicles, however other surfaces such as concrete can also reflect energy if the sun hits it at an angle. It is possible that the sun could bounce off the pool surface and trigger the camera but you could use the motion grid feature in the app to ignore the pool if you wished to. The siren can definitely be disabled if you don't want it going off. -SD, Swann Team
