• The player only seems able to play DVDs encoded for Region 1. The specifications are not clear on region.

• It may be because the way it was recorded (Overseas vs USA system). If it is a disk that was generated in the United States it should play, if it was made in India with the Indian recording system it may not play. I can't remember the operating systems names, sorry.
