“Unactivated with Wi-Fi? Hello. I was wondering if I purchased a phone like this unactivated could I use it as a cheap alternative media player via the Wi-Fi connection. Would all aspects be working except for the "phone" part of the phone (IE browsing web, watching video, MP3 Music w/ thumbnail pics etc)?”

As long as a phone has WiFi capabilities you can use it without having any service.When you first turn phone on it will want to activate for service,just keep declining the avtivation or setuo and you will need to access the wi fi password its name. go to settings-Wifi-Since you will be sitting by the router your phones name will probably be at the top.Click on it enter password and hit connect you should then get everything but phone service!
