Good phone in its time. Take into consideration the windows has ditched their windows phone line and like Bill Gates is now carrying android phones. There is no longer support for windows based os phones that I am aware of but can still be used. You just don't have anyone to turn to if you have a problem with your device. Oh and by the way, they are making their apps for the android phones now. Have fun!!!

About Me:
- 30 yr old male
- tech junkie
- honest reviewer, posts reviews on BestBuy.com for nearly every purchase.
Review of: T-Mobile Prepaid Nokia Lumia 530 No-Contract Cell Phone/White color.
[ Pros ]
- Attractive pricing
- Charger included
- Scratch resistant touch screen coating
- Fits neatly in jean pockets front & back, no show, no peek.
- Does not bend
- Easy to start up device
- You can transfer your old phone data over to the cell phone.
- You can keep an existing cell number with the cell phone.
- Very simple to use User Interface navigation.
- Plenty of functionality. (E.g users can choose to share passwords for Skyping in groups, User can set cell to WIFI only calling to prevent using airtime, User can set cell to let phone choose which signal to use, or Use can strictly not use WIFI and only use cellular network.)
- Battery recharges quickly
- Features E911, emergency support.
- Free of cost t-mobile customer support, *611.
- Plenty of Pay-As-You-Go prepaid airtime options: $10, $15, $30, $40, $50, and $60. User can combine multiple cards for varied amounts. (e.g $10 + $10 = $20.00 total prepaid air time)
- Features geo tracking to locate the users last known location.
- Supports 4GB to 128GB Micro SD card.
[ Cons ]
- Quite a bit of technical jargon, and how to's in user manual. Requires visiting t-mobile store or calling t-mobile customer service for full explanation per described term.
- No free prepaid airtime card included in initial activation or in box.
- No carrying case / protective pocket.
- A bit too easy to remove back covering to access lithium battery, sim card, and Micro SD card.
- Battery life could be better, eco saver mode helps.
- Touch screen glass is breakable according to user manual. I've seen better product designs with shatter resistant touch screens.
- No mention in user manual if touch screen can be replaced with shatter resistant glass.

Blows away my old android phone. Everything works well. I live in an area where I am not always on T Mobile's network and this phone has no problems with it. My old phone couldn't deal with it. There have been none of the memory issues that I had with my last 3 android phones and with a little practice I have come to like the live tiles. The only draw backs are the camera, which is only ok and the lack of apps at the Windows store.

Got this to replace zte android phone. I have a prepaid phone service that uses ATT network ,so tho phone was good upgrade for my smart phone. The good-was to swap SIM card and get it running. Screen res. Is more than adequate..so far the processor chip is fast enough For my needs. Downloading maps is the best feature of this windows phone. You don't have to be using data or on wifi to have GPS capability (this alone is worth the phone purchase!) the not-so-good- windows app market limited. I run a few apps and they are buggy frequently. I stream music from 'Rd*0' and it doesn't run smooth. Constantly deleting and reloading app. The phones back is rather flimsy. A cover needs to be used. The gyro sensors are not responsive enough. I haven't been able to customize some phone features as I could with android phones. Some installed apps cannot be completely deleted. VERDICT- I would buy over.given my 6week ownership so far. Being used to android app is gonna take time getting used to this windows phone

Full disclosure from the start: Windows' app store is still lacking as of now. Many main popular apps are officially available, but others require you to get third party substitutes. You will miss a few.
This is a budget phone, but Window Phones have generally lower hardware requirements. This means you'll get everything from the WP operating system. Cortana is a great assistant, but it's hard to compare to Siri or Google Now; there are aspects which one does better than the rest, so there's no clear "best". The camera is good and responsive, with a fair amount of manual control. HERE maps is very good for navigation. Additionally, it's a Nokia, which are traditionally physically sturdy phones. Nokia's are generally known to be tougher to scratch/break.
Now for the cons. There is no front camera, so no selfies available. There is no NFC available, but Google bought up the tap-to-pay service WP had been using, so that's been gone anyway. There is no flash, so while the camera is decent, you will not be able to capture low light shots.
I'd recommend if you need a good budget phone without sacrificing much in the way of function. If you were to get an Android budget phone, you would be stuck using somewhere between ICS 4.0 to Jelly Bean 4.2, which are at least 3 years old versions of Android. WP will look the same across the board. If you wanted to give Windows Phone a shot but don't want to commit, give this a shot without having to commit to a more expensive flagship device.

Then I wouldn't buy this phone. The screen is small it scratches easy. Operating system is not efficient. Camera doesn't work after a month. It loses power quickly despite "battery saving" everything. Has no speaker for fm radio as it uses headphones for an antennae. But for 50 bucks it was the same price as your basic flip phone. I would rather have simplicity and reliability than a phone that is complex and unreliable for the same price. Hopefully I will break it. Then I will either go super cheap or buy an Iphone.

This was my first Windows phone and it had many great features I love. Having a built in hotspot feature no matter what your plan actually allows is amazing. It is far friendlier as far as organizing apps on your home screen compared to Android. A couple down sides is the camera is not that great and does not have a flash until you get to the much higher Lumias which are not compatible with all phone plans. The App store doesn't have nearly as many options as the more populare Android and Iphone.

Honestly, for $39 you really can't beat this for a kids first phone. The only thing missing is a front facing camera. My middle school student loves it . I really wanted to find fault with the windows OS being a Mac person but really couldn't. Only major issues is that windows App Store is extremely limited. Would highly recommend this for a kid or even a back up phone in a pinch.

I purchased this phone for work, it has easy to use features. Does lack in the area of reception, but in most cases dependable. Also, you won't be able to facetime with anyone, due to its camera position. Still, the GPS app is spot on and this phone is durable. All in all, a great bargain for beginners with simple needs.

This phone has a lot to offer, considering what you pay for it. You don't have to pay hundreds for an Iphone because you will love this one. It is so easy to use with the tiles, fast and you can add an extra micro sd memory card. Love it, my wife uses it, I have a Lumia 521 and my two kids too. It is so cheap but well made.

good price for the value
The screen is not great, but for the price, I am not expecting a 720p screen at this price nor should anyone be for this price. THe pictures come out grainy when taken from too far or too close. I can say that Nokia is giving you a lot for your money though. You can get e-mails, text, Minecraft, GPS, and watch videos on this phone.

While this isn't as feature rich as a Galaxy S5 or an Iphone 6, it doesn't come with a hefty $500 price either. While the screen size may be too small for some, and the Windows platform could use more apps, this is an excellent phone in the under $100 price point (I paid $49 on sale). This phone replaced my college daughter's broken Galaxy s3, and she doesn't seem to mind the change - albeit the two phones are quite different. For a smart phone with the basic essentials, the Lumia 530 is an excellent choice!

I would recommend to any and all. Clear and easy to use. It would be nice if it had a front facing camera but for the price it will.
