Definitely buy one, there's a ton of preinstalled apps and you'll need extra space

I definitely recommend this because the phone does not have sufficient internal memory capacity to hold many apps and definitely not much media (photos, music, etc.) When you move all these to your memory card the phone runs much faster as well.

The phone comes equipped with 8GB of internal memory built in. There is a slot that can take a memory card (microSD size, up to 64GB) but that's just if you want to expand the existing memory. Buying a memory card is completely optional. You can use the phone without it, and then later on, if you decide you want/need more memory, you can buy a memory card at that time.
