The interface is different. I prefer the old one. The biggest improvement is the channels tune in faster. The biggest problem, at this time, is that it kicks out of the app to the Roku home screen. You have to turn off closed captioning. Even if you have it set on "on replay".

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Technically yes. Because the 4th gen streams in the native MPEG2 broadcast quality it skips a step (transcoding) that the network-connected models have to take. So, the time it takes to tune to a live channel will be shorter.
