“Can I hook the Tablo directly into my Samsung TV (it has an ethernet connection). My router is on the other side of the room, and I don't want to snake a cable from the router to the tv. Can I still use router to get schedule data doing it this way?”

This device does not connect to a TV your TV connect to it through Wi-Fi or Internet

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I connected my Tablo to the router with Wifi. I'm sure it'll work even better if it is hardwired to the router but I haven't had many issues. I've had to restart the Tablo once but I half expect that from technology.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, The ethernet cable on the tv should be for input, not output and same goes for the tablo. Tablo has wifi which can work fine most of the time, if not get signal booster or powerline adapter if you really need hardwire.
