Unfortunately, Tablo devices do not work this way. They are only able to record live TV (over the air or OTA) broadcasts. They do this very well but, as far as I know, the functionality you are looking for is not available from a Tablo.

No. You have to use the built in tuner. Tablo has no video input to record from an external source.
