“I am using chromecast to stream ny programs to my tv. Can I connect this device between the chromecast device and the tv to record the program that is being streamed? If not this way, is there another way?”

You can't plug this device between chromcast and TV. This device is to record channels from over the air antenna (local channels) and send them to smart TV or chromcast using your router. Not compatible with cable tv.

The Tablo takes an over the air TV signal and converts it to a viewable for that is either streamed to your TV or saved on the Tablo to view later. It cannot convert a stream from your chrome cast or any other streaming device. It will only work from a TV antenna. So the short answer is no. Trying to record a stream is possible but takes more equipment. I’m not familiar on how to do it.
