Not in the way you're thinking. This device doesn't connect to a TV, it connects to your internet router or cable modem. on your internet and cable TV or Roku device you download the tablo app which connects to this via your home network. You also have to have a digital antenna which attaches to the tablo device which is where the tablo gets the channels from. in my area some channels are broadcast in digital surround sound some or not those that are play well in my surround sound system that's 4 out of 60 channels in my area. But it's the four major networks

I had bought my smart TV a while back that was the last of the design by a certain model with an analog out for sound and not just only a digital out like the next series of TV were offering.
