“I have a Canon Mark 5D III camera and just got a Tamron 400mm lens. When I shoot the photo, it crops the outside of the picture. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it is supposed to be?”

This lens, the 18-400mm Tamron was made for crop sensors, not full frame.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just got mine also, and this is NOT happening when I take the pic. Just make sure your setting on the lens and the camera are on autofocus and maybe try again. I had a Tamron 300 for the past several years and never had a problem. Sold my 300 to get the 400 and so far it works great! If this continues, I'd say you need a replacement. The warranty is for 6 years.
