I think you will. I used the 18 x 270 for years, bought it when it first came out. For me, I feel the difference is significant. It is like having a 640mm lens. I am very pleased with it. A little heavier, of course, but I highly recommend the lens. I am lazy and don't like changing my lens. This has been my salvation. Tamron is a great product for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. At 400mm it will make objects 400/250 or 1.6 times "closer" (image on sensor is 1.6x larger). It also focuses close even at 400mm and you can see an example of a bee on a flower on their web page http://www.tamron-usa.com/product/lenses/b028.html If you want to get even "closer" photos of wildlife you might look at Tamron's 150-600mm which is 600/250 or 2.4 times closer than your 250mm but on the low end is 150mm so it is only telephoto and is a large lens plus costs more.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will notice the difference. That is the reason we bought it. The Vibration Control is also pretty good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I believe you would notice a big difference. I've owned my lenses for at least 6 months now and I love it. I currently use it as my everyday lens on my Canon 70D.
