“Recommendations on this lens vs. the previous one? Any differences that would be incentive enough to spend $1400 vs. $900?”

• The quality of photo about the same when on tripod. The big differences for me is being able to obtain. a few handheld shots with vibration control. Heavy but sometimes you may not have time to setup tripod. I upgraded and glad I did

• When using the full 600mm you obtain a noticably sharper picture than with the older version.
