Mine also makes the same noise and by tapping on the fan areas, it will get better but only temporarily. There seems to be faulty bearings in the fans due to poor manufacturing. I'm not keeping mine. You can try to return it to Best Buy without a receipt, not sure what they will say. If the person used the purchase to earn rewards on their Best Buy card, they can go back to that purchase in their rewards history and you may be able to use that to return it. Otherwise, you may have to contact the manufacturer directly. The noise will only get worse and worse. You can use it that way, though. As for it coming with a user guide, the one I received was only a small pamphlet a few pages long. Nothing that I would consider a user guide and I'm not sure I even kept mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same issue with loud rattling, mostly on the left side. I lift off my laptop and lightly tap above the fan and it will balance itself out. I then gently settle my laptop back on it. It works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I actually experience the same exact thing. Believe it or not I just give it a couple of taps and the noise goes away. Very strange
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They should be able to give you in store credit to purchase another item. But just to make sure, call your local Best Buy first. I have had issues with the Best Buy here in my town honoring their return policies.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the sound that you're getting is anything like the issue with mine, it's that one of the fans has misaligned. I give mine a few taps directly above the center of the fan assembly, it forces the fan into alignment and after a few moments it's spinning like it should be.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.BEST BUY HAS A REALLY GOOD RETURN AND/OR EXCHANGE POLICY. YOU SHOULD TAKE IT UP THERE AND SEE WHAT THEY WILL DO FOR YOU. I IF YOU WANT A COPY OF THE USERS GUIDE I SUGGEST THE MANUFACTURERS WEBSITE TO DOWNLOAD THE RELEVANT GUIDE. GOOD LUCK!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I didn't get one either, I just used the box for reference. It worked out just fine after that. Ask the Geek Squad about the noise you are hearing, they may be able to do something to help.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have you looked in the V where it folds up? Mine was doing the same thing and when I checked it out I realized I never took out the packaging discs in the V.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I think you can, because the customer service is great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had this happen to two units so far. I returned the first one and got a replacement. Then it occurred to the second unit. I called Targus and they said the noise should not happen. I am returning unit #2 today and will given them one more shot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
