• I connected my laptop to the dock via USB, then connected my VGA monitor to the dock via included VGA adapter. I've been able to both mirror the laptop to the monitor and extend the display across both laptop and monitor using Windows 10 without problems. This docking station solved the HDMI to VGA problem very easily.

• Yes, this is exactly how I use the docking station. You just have to go into your Display settings and change it to extended display.

• Yes, I use a Macbook Pro. That was the reason I bought this unit.

• The dock has connection availability for dvi and comes with a vga to dvi adapter. This allowed me to extend/duplicate my monitor.
