“Does the keyboard detach and is the ipad protected in a case”

• The keyboard doesn't detatch, but you can swing it around and fold it down behind the ipad to use it like just a tablet. The ipad itself is protected in a plastic case that is attached to the keyboard. It folds closed like a laptop and protects the ipad. Also the ipad can be popped out of the case easily if needed. I love it!

• The keyboard will be attached to the iPad and it works as case by itself ( screen protector for the iPad is recommended )
