We generally do not recommend plugging the unit into anything other than a dedicated wall outlet/circuit, and it should be plugged directly into the outlet (not a power strip, UPS, or extension cord). The TCL H6W23W may operate on some battery backup/power station systems, but compatibility depends on the backup’s continuous and surge output. If the system is undersized or does not meet the power requirements, the compressor may not start and can shut down or cycle repeatedly. For a 115V unit rated 6.0A/550W, we recommend a backup/inverter with pure-sine-wave output, at least 700–800W continuous, and ~2,000W surge. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
