Yes the wifi is dual band. It will see any wifi signal in the area just like a computer. All you do is select the signal you want to use. I have 3 tv’s and they all were verified to work on both wifi bands. And you do not need 5 ghz to get 4K. 2.4 ghz is stronger signal to penetrate walls, but does not travel as far of have as fast download speeds, 5ghz does not penetrate walls as well but will have farther range in an open area and usually has faster download speeds.
