I hook my 4k Roku tv directly to my home router with Ethernet cable, my connection is 12 mbps and I have no problems streaming the 4k.

Different content providers provide different recommendations. However, typically when streaming 4K content you will want a minimum of 25 Megabits per second. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

It depends on the quality of what you are streaming. I’d say that one megabits is a minimum for standard definition. Blu-ray - esque 4K is going to require about 3 to 4 Mb
