The tv has a home screen that displays all the tv inputs and all your installed apps. So you can easily switch between your apps or direct tv. My tv auto connects to wifi when its available. So, let's say your watching the Roku tv app (via wifi) and you loose wifi signal, you just click the home button on the tv remote and navigate to select the direct tv icon. The tv should auto connect to wifi when it becomes available.
