No it is not the same. CMI means, clear motion index. This is from TCL themselves TCL Roku TV’s use a combination of advanced signal processing and back light scanning to enhance the native refresh rate of the LCD panel (60Hz or 60 frames per second) and present an effective refresh rate (what your eye sees) of 120Hz, or 120 frames per second. This is why you see different specs listed – but the result is a smooth, blur free image, perfect for fast moving sports or video games.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's a native 60hz panel with 120hz magic through software interpolation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Native refresh rate is 60 hz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is 120 or it wouldn't work was my easiest answer I found. It's a 60 that up scales to the 120 speed depending on the incoming signal. Cable, satellite, video game systems (xbox one x and PS4 pro are even different from normal systems of their type), Blu-ray players, and casting devices all can output at a different rate. The TV then will take and multiply the refresh rate to fit at 120. if 60, then x2. a movie that may output at 24, so it'll be x5, and so on. What is awkward with 60hz tvs is making like 24 fit evenly... it doesn't and thus some blur may occur that will look better on a 120 TV. Is it True 120? not exactly, but there is no real industry standard for that rating and you will pay more for the TV's closer to "true" 120.
