According to the TCL website the "517" comes with voice activated remote and the "515" has a standard remote.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They make both models. The 49S515 is exclusively at Best Buy and has a different remote without voice control. The 49S517 isn’t exclusive to Best Buy and it has a remote with voice control. Those are the differences.
