“Is there any universal remote control on the market that will control the tv channel surfing (for this tcl roku tv) by the #s (in the old fashion, pressing the #s on the pad)? .....or the roku operating system does not allow that? please do not guess.”

This is not available on the TCL remote, but the "Guide" that appears on the left side of the tv screen makes it very easy to move from one channel to another. Also, the remote has a feature that goes back to the previous channel. I do not easily learn new technology, but this system has been a breeze!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Currently, our smart TVs do not support the direct input of channel numbers. However, if your TV is connected to the Internet, you can press the left arrow key to populate a channel guide and navigate channels this way. Additionally, you can enable "favorites" for over the air channels so that your most watched channels will automatically appear towards the top. To enable favorites you would go to Home>Settings>TV inputs>Antenna TV>Favorite Channels>Enable. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
