“Does this tv support 5.1 channel surround sound? I've tried everything possible and can only get stereo PCM out of this TV. Whether it's apps, live tv, PlayStation or a blu-ray player I get nothing but stereo even though the TV is set to pass thru. Optica”

Might want to give surround sound through optical another try, out of nowhere surround sound just started working. My guess was wither a bug that an update fixed, or an update added support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Answering my own question here. The answer is no. This TV will not process anything but stereo PCM. I've tried everything humanly possible including reaching out to TCL support. My content is Dolby digital but this TV will not output anything but stereo over optical or ARC or eARC. TCL needs to update the TV.
