Whether the TV is on or off, it is not recommended to continuously touch the screen. With enough pressure or force, possibly hitting the screen with a toy, could cause physical damage to the TV. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, it shouldn’t hurt the TV for your little one to touch it while it’s on since it doesn’t have any touch-screen capabilities. I’ve done the same with my new TCL TV (which I absolutely love) with no long term effects. Pounding/slapping the screen might leave temporary marks (like pressing on a laptop screen) that should quickly go away, but repeated such contact in the same spot over and over again might possibly leave some color “shadows” over time. The obvious immediate concern is that the TV is solidly anchored so it doesn’t fall on him/her.
