How do I get cc to display null

The TV does support closed captioning and has closed caption settings. You would find these standard settings under Home>Settings>Accessibility. Additionally, most streaming apps and external devices also contain their own settings for subtitles. You would simply want to make sure that the content you are watching supports subtitles.
