“What external hard disc drive type is compatible with the 65R635? I would like to record "over the air broadcast programming" and the TV expects a hard disc drive. Does the drive need its own power supply (plug in wall) or does the the USB supply power?”

If you connect a USB Drive to your TV you can access Live TV Pause. You can visit https://support.tcl.com/62989-tcl-roku-tv/what-is-live-tv-pause for more information about this. A 16GB USB Flash Drive is recommended. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
