A:Answer TCL does not claim that they have a 120 HZ refresh rate screen. What TCL says is that the video is processed at 120-240HZ, so the video you see on the 60HZ TCL in most cases will look just as sharp and clean, as if it were a 120/240HZ screen. TCL is not alone in this less than sincere description of their refresh rates, and didnt invent the advertising of "effective refresh rates", and Samsung, LG, and Sony have been making the same claims for more than a decade. I personally do not like this kind of advertising, but as with any product purchase, a little research can go a long way. It is true that TCL's video processing does indeed enhance the appearance. However, a movie filmed at 24 fps, will only look as good as any movie filmed at 24 fps, refresh rates cant change that. If you spend crazy money purchasing a TV with an "actual" 240HZ refresh rate, know that you're not getting anything more than 24fps from your movie, it's simply showing the same frame 10 times before it moves to the next frame.
