I heard popping sounds (like a scratchy record) from TCL's own Alto soundbar with this same TV model. It was fine through TV speakers, and also same soundbar (and HDMI cable) worked fine on another brand TV. Even replacing the TV under warranty didn't solve it. After watching videos I sent, TCL changed the soundbar to a slightly different model and that worked. From my hours of testing and factory resetting I also have a hunch this TV is sensitive to particular types of HDMI cables, so try as many as you can.
