Q: QuestionI'm very interested in getting this special extended edition of the trilogy, however i'm seeing images of the films in a slipcover than the special collectors case i wanted which worries me. I i were to purchase it, what version i would be getting?
Asked by Customer.
- A:Answer This set comes in a cardboard sleeve box with individual black blu-ray cases containing 2 blu-ray movie discs, 2 DVD Appendices discs and a Behind the scenes DVD for each movie. The Appendices and Behind the scenes discs are the same ones in the individually boxed DVD versions of the extended editions. To my knowledge this has been the only packaging for the blu-ray set, other than the initial blu-ray release box that came with an included replica of the One Ring.

Q: QuestionI’ve been seeing in a lot of the box sets only some of the discs play and the others don’t. Something about regions. Is that how this set is?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It is true there are multiple sets circulating out there and many (especially those on Amazon) are clones of European market versions which are region encoded and will only play on players for the countries originally marketed too. This set is sold in the U.S. retail stores and will play on U.S. sold players.(region 1)
