• Hello Tomb, thank you for your question. That part is known as the "Extra Tall Item Sprinkler". It is something that is only used when needing to wash larger pans/pots...etc. You would remove the upper rack and that part would be placed directly against the back wall of the dishwasher. You can find more information in the "Loading the Dishwasher" section of your use and care manual.
