• Hello Scott, thank you for your question and interest in model DWHD760CFP. If local ordinance requires an air gap, the dishwasher will need to be installed with one. But otherwise, an air gap is not required.

• No. Just high-loop the drain hose under the cabinet. Some codes require an air gap but they are totally unnecessary.
