The dashcam to will do Incident recording or motion recording Depending how sensitive mode Is set It will write to the memory card No need for WiFi You would want constant power And would require wiring to fuse box Professional install for that It’s nice cause it looks cleaner and you don’t need To plug in ac lighter If you use ac lighter you will not have the park option available to record incidents when you are away from car They give impression for use with WiFi cars But I suppose a WiFi phone hotspot would work As long as phone does not die and data Is not used up Also it would be cool cause you could do a live view of your car cam from your phone in your house if it’s connected to WiFi hotspot and phone WiFi hotspot also would allow upload of videos to cloud automatically Nice security feature
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello There, The Q800PRO Dash Cam will continuously record as long as powered on. The Hotspot Connection is only required if you wish to use the Thinkware Cloud Features such as Vehicle Tracking, Geofencing, and Remote Live View to keep an eye on the driver of the vehicle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this now to long ago and can’t complain. You do need WiFi to do the set up, because that’s the only way to see the live view this helps set the angle of it. It records everything to a memory card for the files or you can download videos from the app. It also has an option to turn off voice recording Only draw back is it sticking to the window I may have not did something right when I first put it in but after replacing it with the replacement that comes with it no problems Hopefully this helps
