• You can plug the Dash Cam into the cigarette port of your vehicle, however, this option won't enable Parking Mode.

• You can plug it in the outlet if you want to use it that way but you do not get the option to record while parked. If you hardware which Is best so you can get parking mode and continuous recording while vehicle is off. Hope that answer your question.
