A:Answer The Tile has to be in range of your Bluetooth. It won't track a car unless you get close enough driving around with your phone for it to show up, which is hard if your car got jacked. It can tell you WHEN it got stolen. It will tell you the last time it was in range.
You don't need one on your phone. If you have one in your wallet or on your keys, you can press the button on your tile and your phone will ring (it also rings when your phone is in silent or do not disturb mode). So, you can only lose one thing at a time. I bought the four pack and I set up one to just hang on a hook by the back door. This way if I lose everything I can at least find my phone which I can then find everything else.
