• My first set had the irreplaceable battery. They lasted longer than they should have by far. The second one had a replaceable battery which needs attending to. It needs a battery replacement. They no longer make the battery one, but if this generation is as capable as the old one, you shoukd get several years out of it at keast

• It's constantly on so no you can't stretch battery life by turning off. I got a few older 2020 model tiles that have replaceable batteries and work just great. If you see them on sale get those instead.
