Hi Fastmover - Good questions. Tiles work off of Bluetooth signals which can be disrupted by metal obstacles. For best results, you do want to try and clear any obstacles that will block a Bluetooth signal. There is no limit to how far you can see a Tile on your map in the Tile app. If the Bluetooth signal can be recognized by the Tile network, it will show you that location in the Tile app. Thank you
