When you visit the ting website, you choose the wether you want a new number assigned to you or keep/port in your number from another carrier. It’ll then ask you to enter the imei off your device/phone and SIM card # you purchased. Took me like 3 minutes to port over from AT&T. You’ll need your Billing Account Number and PIN number to port over.

After submitting your zip code it will choose an appropriate # based on that location.

Yes, you will get a number on activation.
