Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There’s no monthly or annual subscription fee to use the Tivo mini. It uses one of the tuners on a Tivo Roamio, Bolt, Edge, or Premiere XL to stream TV to another room in your house. If you buy another Bolt for $30 you will also have to pay the additional $14.99 monthly or $149.99 annual fee plus the monthly charges for an additional cable card if you’re using the cable TV version. And you can only place the TV where the cable outlet is located. In my case I don’t have an outlet convenient to where I wanted to place my TVs. I use a couple of Netgear Orbis to extend my wifi around my house. I place them near the location where I wanted to put my TVs and use them for the network connection for my Tivo Minis. No need to run new cable into a room that doesn’t have it. The minis require an ethernet connection but Tivo also sells a USB wifi dongle to use with them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you buy a 2nd Bolt you also have to pay $ 154.00 a year subscription fee 2nd device . That is what I was doing before 2nd unit died . The mini sees the 1st device on your network and streams your shows and apps to 2nd TV with no service fees...$$$ . Easy to setup and works just like a regular TiVo device. That's why TiVo makes it.
