• This unit is only for direct connection to an antenna for over the air HD recording.

• Yes, but you will still need to activate it with TIVO service @ $15 per month for it to work properly, and it does require internet access.

• Yes, you connect your antenna directly to the DVR, then connect the DVR a to your television.
