“Will the new Tivo record and play my dvd's like my old Tivo I own a number of DVD's and occsaionaly rent one, can I play these on the Tivo. I have an old original Tivo that will not work with the all digital cable. It will play my own dvd's so I don't need a separate dvd player . Also it will burn dvd's. will the new Tivo do the same?”

• The new tivo box plays and records digitally just like the old onrs. The interface on the TV is quite similar. The tivo no longer records onto dvds. It's basically a set-top box. You might be able of keep the old dvd tivo box activated and on your network to transfer recordings to the old box, if you are wanting to copy a show to a dvd. if space is limited, new bluray players are drastically smaller than the old dvd players, and the Tivo box is smaller as welll.
