Can you program a preferred route? null

It memorizes all addresses put into it, so it is easy to program the route again. However, you always have to wait for the tom tom to receive the gps signal before receiving directions. It is not mapquest so it just won't pop up the same directions. The tom tom has to receive the gps signal before giving you directions.

I don't think so. This is pretty basic. It will give you some options, like to avoid toll roads or unpaved highways.
