• only an address. It doesn't run off the internet. To my knowledge it accesses satellites.

• Hi Desiree. Thank you for posting your question. This device is neither wifi or data, It navigates by using GPS. You can navigate to an address by using coordinates as well. I hope this helps, Reiss @ TomTom
